Perfect Puppy Programme

The purpose of the first visit is to help you to prepare for the arrival of your puppy in his new home.  I will be able to offer lots of advice and make suggestions.  I will help you to make the transition as stress free as possible for you and puppy, providing advice on the following:

  • Bringing your puppy home – travelling
  • Safety in the home and garden
  • Settling in
  • Crate training, if you plan to use a crate
  • Toilet training
  • Sleeping alone
  • Feeding
  • Appropriate stimulation
  • Appropriate socialisation/habituation – getting puppy used to things like washing machines, music, vacuum cleaners, loud noises, people and other pets.

This second home visit will happen once puppy has settled in.  This is the time to start basic training in the home (prior to vaccinations).  I’ll offer guidance and answer any questions you might have.  This will also be an opportunity to identify any problems that may have already arisen.  We will cover the following:

  • Basic training
  • Toilet training
  • Socialisation/Habituation
  • Teaching bite inhibition
  • Understanding how dogs learn
  • Teaching self-control
  • How to prevent separation issues developing

By understanding how your puppy thinks and by providing them with consistent, clear guidelines for their behaviour, you will help to prevent behaviour problems developing later in their life.
